LUNCHTIME POLITICS: Georgia Senate Poll Update

Your Daily Polling Update

Up 1 from Thursday

RON’S COMMENT: Trump’s job approval rating is now almost 4 points below the popular vote percentage he received in November (43% vs. 46.9%)…. Today’s average is based on four polls, ranging from 40% (Reuters) to 46% (Rasmussen). Without these extremes it would be 42%…. Trump’s disapproval rating averages 55% today…. See the trend in Trump’s job approval average since the beginning of 2020  at approval trend.

Publication schedule: Lunchtime Politics will publish periodically into the new year, but will continue to report the latest polling data when available. Happy new year to all our readers and best of health, Ron

Among voters statewide

GEORGIA (Special Election)
(Trafalgar-R) Raphael Warnock (D) over Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R): +1 (50-49)

GEORGIA (Regular Election)
(Trafalgar-R) Jon Ossoff (D) over Sen. David Perdue (R): +2 (50-48)

RON’S COMMENT: This poll should concern Republicans; it confirms improved numbers for the Democrats…. Trafalgar’s previous polling had Perdue up by 2 points and Loeffler up by 6 points. Now both Democrats are running slightly ahead…. Trafalgar’s polling is known for showing Republican candidates doing better than many other polls. In fact, in November, their pre-election polling had Trump winning five states that Biden carried (Nevada, Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania and Michigan).
