LUNCHTIME POLITICS: New Georgia Senate Poll – Current Presidential Vote Totals

Your Daily Polling Update for Sunday, December 13

U.S. SENATE: RUNOFF ELECTIONS

Among voters statewide

GEORGIA (Special Election)
(Trafalgar-R) Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R) over Raphael Warnock (D): +3 (50-47)

GEORGIA (Regular Election)
(Trafalgar-R) Sen. David Perdue (R) and Jon Ossoff (D): even (49-49)

RON’S COMMENT: This new Trafalgar (R) poll shows Loeffler with a small lead and Perdue in a tie…. Since the last Trafalgar poll a week earlier:

  • Perdue went up 2 points and Ossoff went up 1 point.
  • Loeffler stayed the same and Warnock went up 2 points.

Also:

  • It’s expected that as much as $500 million (yes, that’s a 5 and two zeroes) will be spent by the candidates and outside groups in these decisive runoffs that will determine U.S. Senate control.
  • In the presidential election, Trafalgar’s final poll indicated the wrong winner. They had Trump leading Georgia by 5 points; in the actual election, Biden carried the state by two-tenths of a point.
